Live review of The Crystalline Effect at Achtung by FIEND Magazine: Achtung! Inflation Nightclub Melbourne March 04 The Crystalline Effect is a new project from Eleanor (Sobriquet) and Peter (Our Lady Of The House Of Scandal). Musically, the outfit are incredibly tight – Peter's solid playing and remarkable songwriting abilities shine as strongly as ever. A mellow, industrial styled trip-hop sound defined the band, but on the night Eleanor's vocals were either not-strong-enough or the nerves (potentially to the bands being forced to start much later than they intended, perhaps due to the first performance with a third member to the band) took a more out of her usually finely honed performance. Professionalism reigned supreme, of course, and the band provided a solid set with no flaws and certainly created a huge amount of interest in their future live shows and studio releases. -Fiend Magazine
