Its' a sad fact that Australian acts in the darkwave / industrial music scene have to work much harder to get half the recognition that American and European acts can easily achieve. Elenor Rayner (vocals) and Pete Crane (synth programming) have put out a double album and an EP of fantastic music but achieved little recognition. This album easily surpasses anything they've done. Identity is a collection of truly beautiful and intelligent music, songs that can transport the listener and touch the soul in ways few bands today can. TCE's music is slow and moody, perfect for a rainy introspective afternoon, but it is never sad or depressing. If you care in the slightest about electronic music, especially with great vocals, then you owe it to yourself to check out this criminally underrated band.
